An information technology field of practice that acquires, manages, interprets, integrates, displays, analyzes, or otherwise uses data focusing on the geographic, temporal, and spatial context.
Application of GIS in Malaysia is increasing especially in environment management’s field, urban planning, logging, health application matters and petroleum. More over, GIS allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts.
This course will allow students to answer questions and solve problems by looking at the data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared. GIS technology can be integrated into any enterprise information system framework.
GEOMATIKA has intended to generate more skillful and creative undergraduate in a collaborative GIS environment. Faculty of Geopatial and Land Development has provide proper education and training which is essential to student’s success.
The Diploma in GIS with the aim to produce graduates in the field of geoinformatics to support the needs in handling various geospatial-related developments of the country.
It is a three-year program with a clear vision and philosophy of its own to bring out graduates who are equipped with theoretical knowledge and skills as well as good human values to best serve the nation.
Our academic staff are trained to be dynamic and well-balanced in delivering both the knowledge and skill to the students. Facilities have been procured and upgraded from time to time. Collaborations have also been established with a number of international and local universities as well so that more joint academic activities can be organized and will hence benefit both parties.
