Interior Design is an in-depth course that covers the fundamentals of interior design and decoration, preparing you for a career in the interior design industry. Any interior design consultant working with interior spaces must have the skill and ability to select appropriate color and style details, as this is the only way to create interior schemes that are visually attractive and coherent.

Students will be exposed to the knowledge and will be taught skills required in planning interior layouts, designing soft-furnishings and lighting schemes , colours, materials, media, shape,form, and learning how to communicate their ideas professionally to both clients and contractors. Students will be exposed to exploit spaces inside the building such as residential, offices, shops and salons ans others

The learning is mainly through project work and assignment, supported by lecturers, independent study, site visit and special event.

Students will use these and other tools to shape a specific space while considering the requirements of the project. Our programme will develop students ability to communicate ideas through a wide range of media, and will provide with the skills required to work with a variety of clients all with varying needs and demands.

Diploma in Interior Design in Geomatika College International emphasize on design studio projects, which is the primary academic component of each semester. Students will undergo 12-15 hours studio in a week to ensure the projects that will be presenting by the students hit the standard. This studio training is coupled with imaginative and comprehensive instruction in Interior Design history, technology, theory, digital media, techniques of representation and professional concerns. Besides, students will also expose with field work and site visit for better understanding of area and construction of each development process.

 COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • To produce quality, competent and versatile graduates to perform the task in the field of interior design
  • To enable graduates to apply their knowledge and skills in design discipline in relation to the interior space enhancement and planning
  • To produce graduates who are able to demonstrate mastery in communication skills
  • To produce graduates who are able to comprehend, analyse and integrate human activities inside a building and usage of spaces.

COURSE HANDLING METHODS
Studio work consists of 12-15 hours a week, lecture, tutorial, site visit, project analysis, CAD Lab and industrial training.
