Introduction
Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program is a flexible delivery of traditional on and off-campus graduate courses. The MBA degree program is designed for working professionals. Our focus is on the core analytical and communications skills that prepare students for an uncertain future. The program incorporates a mix of theory with practical applications and supplements traditional lectures with hands-on case analysis. While the program stays abreast of current trends, they have staying power, too, reflecting the broad, fundamental knowledge on which successful careers are built.
GCI’s MBA program prepares you to make the most of career-building opportunities already available to you in the workplace. Starting with your first course, you plan what you want to get out of the program and how you will apply new learning on the job. This focus on career outcomes continues throughout the program.
Entry Requirements:
- Pre-Education: The College will require evidence of an earned bachelor degree, or equivalent, in any discipline. Candidates with foreign education, or education completed outside of the Malaysia., must submit an official foreign credential evaluation.
- Professional Experience: At least 3 years of full-time work experience. The program requires that all applicants submit an admissions application form that describes prior professional history. This allows the Post Graduate Office of Admissions to evaluate candidates for professional experience and maturity. Candidates with professional experience in management have shown to demonstrate strong potential in completing the program successfully and are ideal. However, lack of professional experience in management does not deny the student from admissions.
- Personal Interview: All applicants for the residential program are required to undergo a personal interview. This allows the Office of Admissions to evaluate subjective criteria that is not revealed on paper. Subjective criteria include enthusiasm, motivation, passion, sincerity, and emotional intelligence (EQ). These subjective criteria have shown to demonstrate strong potential in completing the program successfully and are ideal.
- Other Factors: Candidates may also submit other documentation that may support their application for admissions. This may include a resume, or CV; a Personal Statement, describing personal accomplishments, hardships, or personal interests and goals; or recommendations from professional colleagues, former instructors, or practitioners.
Program Goals:
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program will allow students to:
- Analyze, synthesize and evaluate the knowledge acquired through research and apply it to practical business situations.;
- Integrate formal academic learning with individual business experience so that meaningful personalized learning takes place;
- Think analytically and globally within a business environment; and
- Develop a motivation for and appreciate the wisdom of acquiring lifelong learning.
